The TUC has in recent years been a strong advocate of transparency by fund managers of their corporate governance
policies and proxy voting
decisions and has undertaken an
annual survey to encourage greater openness. Through its
member trustee network
it also encourages trustees to take corporate governance seriously and ask the
right questions of their fund managers. The network has around 1,000 members who
receive a quarterly newsletter and updates on regulatory and investment issues.
