John Dunsmore will succeed Tony Froggatt as chief executive of Scottish & Newcastle, the brewer, as of 1 November. Dunsmore is currently the company’s managing director for Western Europe.

 

 

 

Joep van Beurden has been appointed chief executive of CSR, the wireless technology group, effective 1 November. He succeeds John Scarisbrick, who will continue to act in an advisory capacity to the company until 31 December 2007. Van Beurden is currently chief executive of NexWave, the software company.

 

 

 

Philip Bowman is to take up the position of chief executive at Smiths Group, the technology company, from 10 December. Keith Butler-Wheelhouse, who has been chief executive since November 1996, will step down on that date.

 

 

 

AstraZeneca, the pharmaceutical company, has appointed Simon Lowth as its new chief financial officer. Lowth, who will take up his position on 5 November, joins AstraZeneca from Scottish Power, where he was finance director.
